A two-phased project at the Grade II* listed Old Vic Theatre, we were appointed in the Cost and Project Management roles to deliver a series of refurbishments and improvements to the historic site.
Phase 1 comprises a complex range of refurbishments and upgrades to the Back of House areas within the main listed theatre building, including refurbished and improved office spaces, refurbished meeting facilities, dressing rooms and storage areas, DDA compliant circulation space, and upgraded MEP systems.
Phase 2 involves the demolition of an existing café building at the rear of the theatre, and construction of a new-build annex, which will house a café, library, green room and events space.
As a highly complex project within a constrained site, an intelligent logistics solution was required to minimise disruption to the operations of the theatre and the surrounding infrastructure. The theatre will remain open throughout each of the phases.
