St. Mary of Eton is an established Grade II* listed church built in the late 19th Century for the Eton College Mission. A new development created three buildings in response to the existing and emerging needs of the community, including 27 residential units, a new church centre, community facilities, and extensive re-landscaping.
The project achieved a uniquely balanced mix of uses across the site, with new housing, a carefully refurbished church and converted mission hall, a new community space, commercial units, and beautifully sculpted grounds.
The new apartment buildings perfectly frame the church, which remains the central focal point, finished in a diamond brick pattern which sensitively references the historic detail of the original church. The project received numerous plaudits and awards upon completion, including the RIBA Regional Award London and RIBA National Award in 2015.
