Snape Maltings

A new masterplan for the site of one of the world’s finest acoustic concert halls.

The Grade II* listed Snape Maltings was converted from a 19th-century malthouse to become one of the world’s leading music venues.

Following consolidation of ownership across the entire site, we were commissioned to provide Cost Management services to support plans for a series of upgrades and improvements to the masterplan, targeted at enhancing visitor experience and expanding the Snape Maltings artistic and public programmes.

The masterplan identified spaces for new studios, visiting artists and residencies, creative businesses, a National Centre for Music and Wellbeing and a heritage experience centre. Sensitive building and public realm interventions form a long-term strategy that aspires to build on the energy and character of the iconic venue.
